If not, please read ahead for some suggestions from your newsletter editor (and please keep in mind that some of the editor's ideas of fun are akin to your elderly grandmother)

Pick up a new hobby or return to one you've missed: I love knitting but I never have time to do it, so I'm excited to work on the scarf sitting in the back of my closet! Or you could go hiking (explore that nature!), cook a Michelin star five course meal (and order guilt-free takeout if you accidentally burn it), or go shopping (thirfting and retail therapy are both acceptable hobbies in this house)!
Binge a new show: Shadow & Bone Season TWO is coming out Thursday, March 16!!! My roommates have it marked on our official calendar because it is a national holiday for us. (More Ben Barnes content? YES PLEASE.) Watch a new show, catch up on old shows, or (if you're feeling adventurous) hit a movie theatre! The Grand Theatre downtown has $5 movie tickets on Tuesday nights or you can visit The Ross anytime and see indie movies for $5 with your NCard!!
Pick up some hours at work: Listen, life is expensive out there and you gotta get that bag!
TAKE A NAP: I don't know about you, but I'm about SEVEN YEARS behind on sleep, so I'm taking full advantage of the break to make up for lost sleep

Whatever you choose to do during Spring Break (even if it is Absolutely Nothing) enjoy it and make sure you're drinking water!

Free screening of Round House Theatre’s THE TEMPEST

The UNL Medieval and Renaissance Studies program has arranged a free screening of the Round House Theatre’s (in association with the Folger Theatre) adaptation of The Tempest. This innovative production was created by Aaron Posner and Teller (of Penn and Teller) and, as a result, plays up the magic elements of The Tempest. The show is about two hours and 30 minutes, and we’ll have time for discussion afterward for anyone who wants to stay.

This event is free and open to all students and faculty.

Start your weekend off with First Friday at Sheldon. This month we’re collaborating with UNL’s LGBTQA+ Center. Make your own identity collage inspired by the Prism LGBTQA+ & Allied Learning Community’s identity journals on view in the Great Hall.

There will also be a Lavender Closet pop-up. The Lavender Closet Clothing Exchange seeks to provide all UNL students with free and discreet access to identity affirming clothing and accessories. R.E.S.P.E.C.T

Roller Skate Revival

A two-day weekend event for free skating and music as the Nebraska Union’s Centennial Room is transformed into an indoor roller skate rink.

DAY 1 - EVENING
7 to 10 p.m. March 4

DAY 2 - AFTERNOON
1 to 4 p.m. March 5

This is a first-come, first-served activity. 100 pairs of roller skates will be available for checkout. Each pair will be disinfected between users. Students can bring their own roller skates and rollerblades, too.

Born in Alabama and raised in Nebraska and Iowa, Dr. Dan Bird toured the Midwest for 12 years with the seminal Omaha rock band The Jacks and recorded the classic 1985 album, In Danger. He was inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 and the Nebraska Performing Arts Hall of Fame in 2020. Also an educator, Dan earned his doctorate from the University of Nebraska in Education and spent over 20 years teaching and serving as technology trainer for the largest school district in Nebraska. The author of 2 books on spirituality from Ozark Mountain Publishing, Dan resides in Omaha, NE with his Kathie. His music can be heard at danbirdmusic.com, and he actively performs with his music duo, The Bird-Mann Project.

Nebraska’s favorite bird takes center stage in this larger-than-life production featuring live music, dance, and many of the finest puppets in the world. The story features Native American/Indigenous artists, music, language, and culture with puppets created by the Jim Henson Creature Shop (creator of the Muppets). This family-friendly show will inspire you with an incredibly beautiful production created in NYC with inspiration from Nebraska and the North American crane migration.
