The Department of English's Creative Writing program will host literary agent Cole Hildebrand on April 21 at noon in 229 Andrews Hall (Bailey Library). The event is free and open to the public.

Led by the program's director, Timothy Schaffert, Colophon is a series featuring conversations with editors, agents, writers, and other publishing insiders about literary careers.

Hildebrand is an agent with Jean V. Naggar Literary Agency actively building his list, seeking literary and upmarket fiction, graphic novels, and narrative non-fiction, particularly works by LGBTQ+ authors. He loves fostering the careers of debut authors, working closely with them to help develop and edit their projects, and guiding them through the full process from submission to publication.

Prior to JVNLA, Cole was managing editor at YesYes Books, where he was involved in manuscript acquisitions, event planning, website design and publicity for their list, which includes authors such as Elizabeth Acevedo, Justin Phillip Reed, and Danez Smith.
