Yunchan Lim, Piano

At just 18 years old, Yunchan Lim recently became the youngest pianist ever to win the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. He has become one of the most sought-after classical performers in the world, regularly selling out major venues with performances that showcase a “magical ability” and a “natural, instinctive quality” (La Scena). Supporting International Students’ Academic Success: Helping International Students Who Experience Microaggressions

Join the CTT and ISSO for this interactive workshop that will explore the microaggressions commonly faced by international students and the impact those microaggressions have. Strategies for responding to and interrupting microaggressions will be discussed and participants will have the opportunity to practice those skills. Finally, we will discuss ways to support international students who are experiencing microaggressions.

Indian Caves Backpacking Trip
Daily: Nov. 8, 2024 – Nov. 10, 2024

Location: Outdoor Adventures Center
Indian Caves State Park is famous for its beautiful fall colors, views of the Missouri River, and yes, it’s giant sandstone cave- and it’s best explored by backpacking! Our instructors will teach you the nuances of getting the right gear for your trip, how to pack and fit your bag, and a variety of outdoor skills so you can go back out into the wilderness in the future. Meet new people, enjoy good food, and gain experience to go backpacking again on your own! The cost of this trip covers all of the transportation, activity-related gear and camping equipment, meals while at the activity site, camping fees, permits, leadership, and instruction for the program.

Art and Nature Bike Ride

Want to explore Lincoln, make new friends, and get inspired to create some art of your own? This will be a relaxed ride leaving from the Outdoor Adventures Center showcasing local Lincoln bike paths. During the ride we will stop at the Sheldon Museum of Art to check out their galleries, then will find a good place to meet and make some art of our own before heading back to campus. Bikes, helmets, and some art supplies (but feel free to bring your own) are provided.
