A digital humanities project focused on the writings of Walt Whitman, led by Kevin McMullen, has earned $300,000 in funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The funding for “'Missing Me One Place, Search Another': Locating and Digitally Editing Walt Whitman’s Unsigned Journalism (1846–48)" will support preparation of Whitman's journalistic writing while he was editor of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. The work will be added to the Whitman Archive.
